We need a mid-weight web designer to join our fast-growing web team.
We want someone who’ll bring creative flair tempered with web design best practice, and technical skills to build the designs they sketch out.
You’ll be a key part of a tight knit team tasked with building and scaling Chip’s website.
This job is perfect for someone looking to own the visual design and user experience on a website, as well as improving it with new functionality. So we’d hope you’re also technically minded and have a passion for coding too.
We use a CMS called Webflow, which is designed to empower designers to develop websites, so bonus points if you’ve used it before (or something like Webflow, i.e. another similar no-code website builder).
But above all, this is a design job, so we’d expect you to bring some serious creative ambition and eye for design to the job, the bolder the better.
This is a mid-weight role, and so you’ll be line-manging and developing the skills and career of our junior web designer. This is a great opportunity to begin developing your own leadership skills.
Ultimately this will be a very rewarding role for someone with drive and who wants to design and build an amazing website. There’s space if you like to work autonomously and take initiative, and lots of room to grow. But you won’t be alone, as you’ll be part the wider design and Marketing teams, with experienced colleagues on hand to help you too!
Whatyou can expect to be doing
- Working within our web team to build and maintain a beautiful high performance website
- Designing web pages and customer journey flows
- Playing an integral part of the design team to embed our brand design system in the website
- Collaborating with content marketers to create compelling narratives to sell our products and make finance simple

- Evidence of design ability, specifically web design (a portfolio of work)
- Experience with designing with Webflow (or similar web design CMS), and developing and maintaining the built-in Webflow CMS
- Experienced with Figma (or similar design platform)
- Standard knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Confident using third party tools to extend functionality of Webflow (such as: Lottie Files, Zapier, Make)
- Understanding of plug and play API tools (Zapier or similar)
- Confidence to tinker with tech to learn and master new softwares and functionalities
- Switched on to design trends and best practices for web
- Impressive attention to detail
- Have worked in collaborative environment
- Good Java script knowledge
- Experience with other creative tools (photography, filming etc.)
- Experience working and evolving an existing brand
- Interest in finance, and ability to create clear designs which help our audience navigate and understand financial products in a smart and straightforward way
- Experienced with Adobe CC including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
Someone with a genuine interest in Chip and is excited about being part of a fast-growing company and our mission to build the investment super app of the future.
Although we’re in the financial space, and under the scrutiny that comes with it, the current marketing team works well together, and even sometimes with a smile. We’re sure you’ve got the technical skills, otherwise, you would have stopped reading by now, so let us be clear on what will make us want to work with you.
We want a real person, with interests outside of work, to join our team. You could be a dancer, a gamer, a musician, a parent, a hockey fan, or even that one person that still writes Twilight fan-fiction. Doesn’t matter to us.
At the interview stages, we will be looking for empathy, eq, fun stories, and the ability to smile even when things are tough.
