Responsibilities
- General admin tasks including booking taxis and couriers, organising meetings, looking up title information using the Biblio system, printing, photocopying, mailings and binding manuscripts
- Completing review mailings for press and social media influencers
- Writing draft cover briefs and drafting book blurbs
- Managing editor schedules for the London Book Fair
- Maintaining metadata standards for the list's titles
- Attending meetings and taking minutes
- Compiling spreadsheets and maintaining databases
- Selecting and typing up quotes and reviews
- Sending book proofs and finished titles to authors, illustrators and agents
- Proofreading materials and maintaining data to produce publications that meet company and audience requirements
- Improving the quality of information or data in line with best practice
- Keeping data and records in line with relevant data protection guidelines
- Following publishing guidelines to produce products on budget and schedule, meeting industry standards
- Ensuring appropriate changes are highlighted and agreed with stakeholders
- Applying rigour and attention to detail
- Escalating issues and concerns in line with company process
- Identifying stakeholders, building relationships and managing expectations
- Presenting information clearly and concisely, internally or externally
- Ensuring products meet contractual structures agreed with authors or other content providers
- Thinking laterally and providing sensible solutions to problems
- Demonstrating strong teamwork, taking on tasks confidently and resourcefully, supporting the team and line manager as required
- Communicating clearly with stakeholders, showing confidence, inclusiveness and flexibility, with appropriate use of language and terminology
- Presenting and communicating ideas to colleagues internally and externally as needed
- Managing own workload and operating both individually and as part of a wider team, seeking support when needed
- Demonstrating good time‑management, prioritising effectively and managing multiple demands and deadlines
