CNN’s Digital Video team creates original video content for all CNN platforms. From breaking news to major domestic US and international stories we tell human-centred stories designed for digital platforms, with a focus on clarity, context, and audience impact.

The Producer, Digital Video is responsible for pitching and producing video news stories with clear, compelling angles designed to resonate with CNN’s digital audiences. In this role you’ll monitor the news of the day, pitch story ideas, gather elements, do research, write scripts, edit video in-house, and film with reporters at the office and, on rare occasions, in the field. You will also use your ability to think creatively about how to explain the news and articulate why a story works for a specific platform.

You’ll be a video-first storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced news environment and enjoys the challenge of short‑form editing, with strong news judgment and a keen understanding of how audiences consume news on social media platforms. As a reporter you’ll value accuracy and fairness, and be a team player willing to jump in and help at a moment’s notice. You’ll have extensive experience working independently, writing scripts and editing projects in Adobe Premiere, and will be able to quickly assess what is new, surprising, or consequential about a story and translate that into clear, engaging video.
