About

The Role

The Food Group Design Hub produces world‑class multimedia content for Britain’s leading food media brands Good Food and Olive, working across print and digital platforms with a focus on key verticals recipes, family and health, along with trends, reviews, drink, travel and restaurants. You’ll play an important role in the continued growth of both brands, from the magazines and social channels to live events.

This role is for a detail‑driven, motivated design hub member who will design and send pages to press for the Food Groups, Home Cooking Series and Bookazine collection, and assist on all other Food Group brands. This cross‑platform role will involve generating eye‑catching content, visuals and presentation materials in both print and digital formats, including websites, digital editions, email templates, graphics for web and social media, video and print.

The successful candidate will maintain a steady workflow of pages through the editorial system, both within the design hub and the wider editorial team.

As a Senior Multimedia Designer, you will
  • Design pages for all Easy Cook and Home Cooking Series magazine editions and other Food Group magazines when required
  • Send all Easy Cook and Home Cooking Series pages to repro and other titles when required
  • Keep all Easy Cook and Home Cooking Series editions up to date in in‑house production software
  • Use the Dialogue system to check the final print‑ready PDFs in accordance with best‑practice procedures
  • Ensure all Easy Cook and Home Cooking Series editions have been signed off for press (Dialogue training will be given)
  • Meet agreed editorial production schedules, liaising with Immediate Media Cos production department to make efficient use of in‑house repro operations
  • Liaise with the repro team and update images returned from them
  • Work with the Good Food and Olive Art Directors to create website graphics, email templates, social media graphics, digital edition templates, brand campaigns, video and audio idents when required
  • Work with the brand Art, Editorial and Marketing colleagues to create print assets, including magazine layouts, brand adverts, point‑of‑sale merchandising material, artwork for live events, magazine paper wraps/packaging, brand‑related products (inc posters, calendars, supplements, magazines etc) and campaign logos
  • Brief and art‑direct photo and video shoots when required
  • Film and produce behind‑the‑scenes video content when necessary
  • Develop graphic identities for key campaigns that help us meet business objectives
  • Work with the Picture editor to source appropriate imagery for publication on all brand channels, in full compliance with rights agreements
  • Ensure all graphic output reflects brand values and design guidelines, both in print and online
  • Liaise with brand stakeholders to ensure all design projects are thoroughly briefed, with clearly defined objectives
  • Process and edit images for publication in print, on website and other platforms as required
  • Create templates that colleagues can use to easily create consistent, brand‑appropriate graphics
  • Devise effective graphic templates for our social media when required
  • Work with our Marketing and Editorial teams on campaigns that drive audience engagement across all platforms (e.g., print, online, social, audio)
