Role & Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for planning, delivering, and reporting on two of the Trust’s key events of 2026; the Green Careers Showcase and the Woodland Festival. The Green Careers Showcase is our annual event highlighting the many opportunities available for young people in the green sector in London. This role will follow an existing format and be supported by the Head of Youth Programmes, but with an opportunity to be creative and bring new ideas to the event.

The annual Woodland festival encourages people of all ages to come to the woods and enjoy a range of activities promoting the natural environment and heritage of the area. There is an emphasis on the local community and making visiting the woods accessible, fun and informative. The first festival took place in 2025 and a wash‑up meeting identified where there was room for improvements, refinement and closer working with our local partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver the Green Careers Showcase and Woodland Festival working closely with LWT's in‑house teams and liaising with key stakeholders as necessary
  • Recruit and curate relevant partners and stakeholders to attend the events
  • Recruit speakers for the events
  • Ensure at least 120 young people aged 16‑25 attend the Green Careers Showcase, focusing on young people from backgrounds under‑represented in the environmental sector, and at least 200 people of all ages attend the Woodland festival with focus on engaging the local community from specific housing estates and people who are under‑represented in visiting the wood
  • Coordinate event communications and marketing, including promotion on the website and creation of poster and banners for entrances
  • Manage the planning and execution of both events to time and to budget
  • Organise events at the festival including Eventbrite bookings and checking‑in process on the day
  • Set up and implement monitoring and evaluation for the events, including the production of two post‑event evaluation reports
Our ideal Events Coordinator will have:
  • Experience in coordinating a successful project or event from concept to completion, on‑time and within budget
  • Passion for working with diverse audiences and creating inclusive and accessible environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Ability to think quickly on your feet and resolve unexpected issues

(Please see job description for full person specification)

Interviews

Are scheduled to take place on 25th and 26th March and reasonable adjustments will be offered to all candidates including the choice to meet online or in‑person.
