About the Role

Senior Video Editor for Sun News Factual. Key player crafting compelling, high‑impact video content for Royals, Showbiz and Factual strands, driving views and engagement across digital platforms.

• Edit video content across all content strands efficiently, including documentaries, short social videos, quick‑turnaround clips and longer stories; maintain editorial quality and speed.
• Tailor content for multiple platforms – You Tube, the website, social media – optimising retention, views and shares.
• Work closely with a small team of producers and journalists, also working independently, setting editorial and technical standards across the post‑production team.
• Manage media, multi‑camera projects, create and animate graphics, colour grade, perform advanced audio design; maintain brand consistency.
• Stay ahead of digital video trends, incorporate audience insights, optimise for clicks, watch time and engagement.

• News & current affairs background (must‑have): Proven, hands‑on experience editing in a fast‑paced news environment; understanding of journalistic integrity, legal sensitivities.
• Narrative‑driven edit producer (must‑have): Storytelling skills, experienced in shaping a strong narrative arc from raw interviews.
• Master of diverse formats: Comfortable crafting hour‑long interviews, cinematic documentaries, and fast‑turnaround vodcast shows on tight deadlines.
• Technical expertise: Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, and motion graphics.
• Digital native & platform‑savvy: Deep understanding of You Tube algorithms, thumbnail/hook strategy, social media consumption of factual content.
• Fast & agile: Thrive under pressure; manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering clean high‑impact edits on tight news cycles.
