About the Role

To support our global Digital Cinema team, the 3D Theatrical Subtitling Operator will perform subtitle pre‑qualification and post‑processing of all subtitled feature and trailer content, ensuring subtitle assets meet required standards prior to mastering. The operator will also create and demonstrate 3D subtitle disparity maps, handle 3D language versioning for Digital Cinema Packages, and produce downstream outputs. Other responsibilities include testing tools and applications, handling data entry for work orders, collaborating with other departments, and providing feedback to the Project, Mastering, and Content Services teams.

Responsibilities
  • Perform subtitle pre‑qualification for supplied subtitle files to meet technical specifications
  • QC and post‑process theatrical subtitle files, making temporal and positional corrections per client guidelines and procedures
  • Create final subtitle XMLs and other file‑based deliverables for feature and trailer content for Digital Cinema, OTT, and Home Entertainment
  • Create and QC 3D stereoscopic subtitles for Digital Cinema and home entertainment
  • Run client‑attended 3D subtitling sessions as required
  • Assist in UAT for proprietary and 3rd‑party tools and applications focused on 3D stereoscopic subtitling processes
  • Create media and file‑based subtitle proofs for client approval
  • Complete subtitle QC reports, describing defects and providing details for troubleshooting
  • Actively troubleshoot and analyze root causes of subtitle rejections
  • Abide by company security policies and protect entrusted information assets
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Good English language skills and knowledge of various English accessibility formats (OCAP, CCAP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with tools and applications such as DVS Clipster and Color front's Transkoder; knowledge of other NLEs including Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools, and DVD or Blu‑ray mastering software is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ability to adapt to different software
  • Ability to prioritize, manage work orders, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality
  • Problem‑solving skills with a creative and innovative approach and ability to think outside the box
  • Excellent multitasking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to learn new methods, procedures, or techniques and take on new tasks
Experience
  • Minimum 1–2 years theatrical subtitling experience in a Digital Cinema/Localization post‑production environment
  • Hands‑on experience with Theatrical 3D subtitle stereography processes is a bonus
  • Understanding of end‑to‑end theatrical and downstream subtitling workflows and processes is a bonus
  • Secondary language skills not essential but prior work with a variety of languages and strong working knowledge of language structures and different alphabets
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent professional experience
