Senior Editor B2B, T Brand International, London

London, United Kingdom

The New York Times branded content team, T Brand Studio is looking for a Senior Editor with a focus on B2B (Consulting Finance and Technology) to join our London office. Inspired by the journalism and innovation of The New York Times newsroom, T Brand crafts stories that help brands make the world better. We are a team of editors, designers, program managers, developers, strategists and audience experts who create content for leading brands around the world.

About the Role

This role will contribute to the creation of branded content advertising — from brainstorming and conceptualizing creative ideas to answering client briefs to writing, editing and commissioning projects. You will take specific leadership in B2B campaigns, both growing new advertiser opportunities and following through in production. Specifically, the core tasks of the Senior Editor, T Brand Studio International include participating in brainstorms and creating pitches.

Additionally, you will conduct research and interviews, write, commission and edit articles. Furthermore, you will see video and podcast projects through the production process. The Senior Editor will be part of the larger T Brand team based in London, Singapore, Paris and New York. This is a hybrid position; you will report to the Editorial Director, EMEA and APAC, T Brand International, based in London.

You can typically expect to be in the office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceive and write engaging branded content pitches, stories, and projects for clients in multiple verticals. These verticals include consulting, financial services, consulting business, technology, luxury goods, consumer, automotive, entertainment, health care, and travel.
  • Write and edit primary- and secondary- source reporting and content for T Brand Studio International projects.
  • Employ newsroom standards, including conducting on-the-ground interviews, identifying sources, sub/copy editing, proofreading and fact-checking.
  • Ensure that all branded content produced by T Brand Studio is in keeping with the values of The New York Times while meeting our client's strategic aims.
  • Proofread creative work or editorial copy written by colleagues across T Brand Studio, including London, Paris, Singapore and New York.
  • Participate in regular brainstorming sessions and meetings with teams in Singapore, London and Paris.
  • Work with colleagues to help finesse and fine-tune ideas to develop excellent storytelling and multiple content capabilities.
  • BA/BS in communications, journalism, or humanities
  • Extensive experience in a branded content or editorial role.
  • Experience in audio and video production.
  • Experience reporting on finance, business and tech beats.
  • Solid digital journalism, writing and editing experience.
  • Experience responding to feedback from advertisers and clients.
  • Experience with social media, distribution and the branded content landscape.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA/MS level in communications, journalism, or humanities
  • Editor with experience in B2B subjects, but able to work across a diverse range of topics including tech, culture, lifestyle, travel and luxury.
