.My client is a fabulous ladies wear supplier who is experiencing a strong growth period and looking to expand their technical team.
If you are an experienced garment technologist with a supplier background and knowledge of working across soft wovens, tailoring and jersey, working with UK retailers, then this opportunity could be for you.
Long and Short lead production and factory knowledge required for this role. Working with key retailers, you will need to be confident in fit meetings
Main Responsibilities will include :- Manage the technical development of designated womenswear accounts from sample stage through to production.
- Lead fit sessions, providing clear technical comments and garment amendments to offshore factories.
- Prepare and check samples, specifications and technical documentation for customer submission.
- Work closely with overseas factories to ensure quality, fit and construction standards are achieved.
- Build strong relationships with customers, working with key accounts
- Manage customer PLM systems and maintain accurate technical records.
- Liaise with Design, Merchandising, QA and Production teams to ensure critical path deadlines are achieved.
- Support continuous quality improvements and help minimise customer returns through strong technical expertise.
- Previous experience as a Garment Technologist within a fashion supplier or retailer.
- Strong womenswear product knowledge across multiple categories,
- Confident leading fit sessions and communicating technical comments to offshore factories.
- Experience working with factories across the Far East and North Africa would be advantageous.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, fabrics and manufacturing processes.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to build relationships with customers and internal teams.
- A proactive team player with a positive attitude who enjoys working in a fast-paced supplier environment.
