Location: Greater London

Hours 3-5 hours per monthly session, additional independent/group research

Closing Date 31 August 2026

Internship Location British Library, London

This project will be based around 15 creative workshop sessions
held between September 2026 – August 2027.

You will also be expected to work on independent research/exploration outside of scheduled sessions, to be confirmed with the group and lead facilitator.

Co-creation (Comic / Graphic Novel / Anthology)

  • Define themes and approach to create a graphic novel, comic or anthology
  • Develop their narrative through character design and world building
  • Design cover concepts for your own story or for an anthology
  • Review and prepare for publication

Co-design (Maker Space)

  • Feed forward and respond to concept, scheme and detail design proposals
  • Work with appointed design agency to integrate project work in the space
What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you?

E.g. skills they could learn/develop and experience they could gain.
Aged 18-25?

Over the course of a year
, you’ll work alongside artists, facilitators, curators and designers to work on an upcoming co-creation project:

  • Workshops at the British Library and partner locations
  • Support from professional facilitators and the exhibition team
  • Collaborative, experimental and hands‑on creative making
  • Co-design an interactive Maker Space
  • Create an original collaborative graphic novel/comic
  • Learn how exhibitions are developed behind the scenes
  • Share ideas directly with professional designers and creatives

    Build storytelling, illustration, publishing and creative production skills
  • Connect with other young creatives and industry professionals

Participants will receive:

  • £50 per session attended
  • Travel support in exceptional circumstances
