Are you a dance professional with a passion for youth development and a knack for organisation? The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is looking for a SYNC Company Manager to join our Step into Dance team.

In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind our Step Youth Companies (SYNC). You will manage the day-to-day operations of the companies, working directly with talented young dancers to ensure they have an enriching, safe, and professional experience. From planning weekly schedules and booking guest artists to managing performances and leading technique sessions, you will be at the heart of our artistic vision.

Step into Dance is a partnership between the RAD and the Jack Petchey Foundation. We are one of the UK’s largest inclusive youth dance programmes, reaching thousands of young people across London and Essex. We believe in the power of dance to empower, build self-confidence, and foster teamwork in dancers of all backgrounds and abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Company Management:

    Oversee all aspects of SYNC, including recruitment, weekly schedules, and annual auditions.
  • Artistic Support:

    Deliver the first hour of weekly sessions focusing on technique and conditioning, and act as a bridge between choreographers and dancers.
  • Event Coordination:

    Work with our Events Manager to secure and manage performance opportunities.
  • Administration:

    Manage dancer onboarding, communications with parents, fee collection, and attendance records.
  • Budgeting:

    Monitor project budgets, process invoices, andassistwith funding reports and bids for the Jack Petchey Foundation.
  • Safeguarding:

    Act as a chaperone and ensure all activities adhere to strict health, safety, and safeguarding regulations.
Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual with a strong background in dance and experience working with young people. You should have:

  • Experience in arts administration or company management.
  • The ability to lead dance technique/conditioning sessions.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with parents and guest artists.
Contract & Working Hours

This is a part-time position working 14 hours per week. Because our dancers are at thecentreof what we do, this role requires the post holder to be consistently onsite at RAD HQ on Sundays during term time.

The role is offered on afixedtermcontract ending on 31 July 2027, with a review at the end of this period based on funding and project status. Due to the nature of the performance calendar, a degree of flexibility isrequiredto work occasional evenings and weekends to support rehearsals and events.
