Location: Greater London

We are looking for an experienced Pipeline 2D Technical Director to join our growing animation studio in London. In this role, you will bring your smart technical solutions to our creative teams, working with editorial, production and artists to bring their pixels to the big screen.

Responsibilities
  • Functioning as the primary technical resource for image and 2D pipeline questions across the animation studio
  • Supporting the edit and story team with ingesting panels, exporting, and tracking work
  • Managing playlists and cuts for the animation team and vendors
  • Integrating and improving third party review tools to create an open and accessible review experience across the animation studio
  • Configuring burnins, slates and HUDs to support transcoding and automation
  • Supporting colour workflows, including configuring OCIO
  • Proposing and implementing new workflows or tools, including AI, to continuously improve creative output
  • Representing the story & editorial team on workflow decisions and cross-departmental technical challenges
  • Helping artists, editorial, and production with workflow and technical questions
  • Contributing to our mission of delivering world-class animation content
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of image manipulation and data orchestration for VFX and/or feature animation, with proven production experience
  • Strong command of core editorial tools (Avid, openRV) and exchange formats (AAF, XML, and OTIO)
  • Skilled in Python and Qt
  • Knowledge of production management tools
  • Understanding of OCIO and colour pipelines
  • Experience with FLIX, C++, or AI for image processing is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines
  • Experience working with internal teams and external vendors
  • Appreciation and understanding of teamwork
  • Passion for storytelling, animation, and games
