Creative Review is a trusted source of insight, ideas and inspiration for the creative industries, covering design, advertising and the wider creative sector. Established in 1980, the brand has evolved from a print magazine into a multi-platform proposition spanning digital, print, social media, newsletters, podcasts, events and the Creative Review Annual Awards.
As part of Haymarket, Creative Review connects a highly engaged creative community with the ideas, people and developments shaping the industry. Through its editorial content, events and wider brand offering, Creative Review informs and inspires its audience while creating opportunities to grow its reach and impact across the creative industries.
The Role- The Creativity and Culture Editor will lead Creative Review’s coverage of new global design, advertising and wider cultural projects across digital, social and CR’s wider platforms.
- The role will develop and deliver a strong editorial strategy that showcases the best creative work, celebrates industry talent and explores the cultural trends shaping the advertising and design industries. Through high-quality journalism, analysis and multimedia content, the role will grow Creative Review’s reputation as the leading destination for creative professionals.
- The Creativity and Culture Editor will build and maintain strong global industry relationships and collaborate with editorial, commercial and events teams to develop engaging content, products and experiences that grow audience engagement and support Creative Review’s wider objectives.
Key Responsibilities Editorial Strategy & Content Development
- Lead Creative Review’s coverage of new design, advertising and commercial creative projects across digital, social and multi-media platforms, delivering high-quality journalism that informs and inspires audiences.
- Write, commission and edit new work content, plus features, analysis and opinion content covering the advertising, design and commercial creative industries.
- Identify emerging standout campaigns and design work, plus creative trends, influential talent and cultural developments to shape Creative Review’s editorial agenda.
- Maintain strong editorial judgement when curating creative work featured across Creative Review’s platforms, ensuring content meets the brand’s standards.
- Develop ideas for new editorial formats, products and audience propositions that strengthen Creative Review’s offering.
- Lead the development and performance of Creative Review’s Work and Inspiration content.
- Use audience insight, analytics and industry feedback to grow engagement and support Creative Review’s audience strategy.
- Work with the Editor and Deputy Editor to develop Creative Review’s social, audio and video proposition.
- Build and maintain relationships with leading creatives, agencies, brands, producers, directors and emerging industry talent around the world.
- Represent Creative Review at industry events, conferences and awards, acting as an ambassador for the brand.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to support sponsored content and events while maintaining editorial integrity.
The Creativity and Culture Editor works closely with the Editor, Deputy Editor and wider Creative Review team to deliver editorial strategy, audience growth and engaging content experiences. The role builds strong relationships with industry leaders, contributors and partners while collaborating internally across our Haymarket Events, Commercial, Content Labs, Studio teams.
Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria Knowledge- Strong understanding of the global advertising, design and commercial creative industries, including key agencies, studios, brands, talent and emerging trends.
- Knowledge of digital journalism, multimedia content production and evolving audience behaviours.
- Understanding of editorial standards, media law and maintaining journalistic integrity.
