A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a  highly creative Womenswear Designer  to join a successful and forward-thinking fashion supplier, working with a  range of high street and premium customers .
The key focus of the role is  Outerwear and Tailoring , so strong experience and a great portfolio across these areas is essential.
Our client is looking for a  fresh, youthful and trend-led Designer  with a strong creative eye and a real passion for fashion. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop their own handwriting, push creative boundaries and work across exciting, fashion-forward collections.
You will design across  formal and casual outerwear, tailoring and woven separates , working closely with customers, suppliers and the wider design team.

Main responsibilities will include:

Design trend-led womenswear collections with a strong focus on  Outerwear and Tailoring
Research trends, fabrics, colours and key fashion direction
Develop creative concepts, mood boards and design presentations
Produce strong hand sketches, CADs and technical drawings
Work across formal and casual outerwear, tailoring and woven separates
Source fabrics, trims and new techniques
Work with customers, factories and suppliers throughout development
Keep up to date with emerging trends and competitor activity
Work collaboratively with the wider design and sales teams
Manage multiple collections and deadlines

Person specifications:

Womenswear Designer with strong experience across  Outerwear and Tailoring
Excellent portfolio demonstrating creative, directional design
Fresh, youthful and  trend-led handwriting
Experience across formal/casual outerwear; suede and leather desirable
Strong understanding of fabrics, garment construction and fit
Excellent CAD and technical drawing skills
Commercially aware but highly creative
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Passionate, proactive and full of ideas
Organised and able to work at pace
Ambitious and keen to develop and grow within a creative business
