The Producer within the Design Team at Battenhall manages the full end-to-end lifecycle of creative and design projects, serving as an adaptable, multi-skilled lead across video production, print, design, and events. Beyond standard production duties such as managing budgets, vendor relationships, and on-site logistics, this role actively steps into broader project management to own the delivery of creative outputs from initial briefing to final execution.
During downtime between shoots, the Producer gets hands-on with project management by liaising with client handling teams, streamlining client feedback, managing external design freelancers, and ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. As a responsive, client-facing point of contact when needed, they support all logistics and supplier needs across the full spectrum of creative and design work to guarantee smooth, successful project outcomes.
Working as part of the Design Team, a Producer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the planning, production, and delivery of design and studio projects, including studio and on-site shoots, from initial brief through to final execution.
- Managing all aspects of design and studio projects including contracts, permits, risk assessments, model hire and selection, set requirements, prop purchases, equipment liaison and hire.
- Partnering with our design, creative, strategy, and client servicing teams to translate creative concepts into actionable and feasible production plans.
- Overseeing the entire project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Identifying potential project risks, developing contingency plans, and creatively problem-solving under pressure.
- Developing, managing and tracking complex project budgets and timelines.
- Leading, mentoring, and delegating tasks to relevant team members.
- Sourcing, vetting, and managing relationships with a network of specialist freelancers.
- Negotiating contracts with venues, vendors, and talent to maximise value for clients, working closely with the internal finance team to support negotiations and keep financial records accurate and up to date.
- Serving as the primary production point of contact for key clients, managing expectations and ensuring clear communication.
- Confidently leading client presentations and status meetings.
- Leading all on-site production, including setup, technical rehearsals, catering and real-time troubleshooting.
- Coordinating logistics for on-site services, including staffing, guest experience, and vendor management.
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management experience.
- Proven experience working with and managing large budgets.
- Fully competent with finance processes; processing POs and invoices efficiently and reconciling production budgets.
- Exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly under pressure and to fast turnaround deadlines.
- To be proactive, organised and pragmatic, you need to be in the detail of budgets and timelines and manage both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of production workflows within an agency environment.
- Willingness to attend shoots, travel around the UK and occasionally abroad.
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to troubleshoot in real time.
- Experience coordinating across multiple projects or teams.
