The ideal candidate will have a portfolio demonstrating the ability to create FX for both pre-rendered and performant real-time projects. You'll craft CG renditions of naturalistic physical or magical phenomena, such as fire, water, clouds, smoke, physical destruction, and particulates.
What you'll do

Create particle, rigid-body, fluid, cloth, fur, and/or hair simulations or animations.
Develop lighting and materials that work with the FX to produce the final rendered image or runtime content.
Use a variety of commercial and proprietary FX tools, including Houdini and Maya, for execution as real-time elements in Unreal Engine.
Work in partnership with other departments to ensure that shots are delivered to the highest possible standard.
Design and create images, elements, effects, pipelines, tools, and techniques.
What we are looking for
Previous experience with Unreal Engine and Niagara.
An excellent knowledge of Houdini.
A thorough understanding of the techniques and technologies relating to simulated and procedural FX.
Previous experience producing effects for environments such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, destruction, and explosions.
A good understanding of animation.
A good understanding of the entire visual effects process within Games, VFX, or similar adjacent industries.
A familiarity with pipeline issues, especially when working between multiple packages.
Strong understanding of flipbook animation and vertex animation.
You might also have
Knowledge of other simulation packages, such as Ember Gen.
Experience with other render packages or real-time engines, such as Unity or first-party engines.
Familiarity with UE Blueprints.
Strong Vex, HScript, Python, and/or Mel scripting skills.
