Role OverviewUMENCO is seeking a Senior Fashion Designer for an Australia-born womenswear label who are renowned for its glamorous, contemporary occasion wear.
The Senior Graphic Designer will lead the design and development of the brand’s expanding product categories, spanning elevated tailoring, suiting, outerwear, lounge, denim, jersey and knitwear. Reporting to the Founders and Head of Product to translate the brand’s signature aesthetic into refined, high-impact collections that support the brand’s evolution into a globally recognised, premium fashion destination.
This is a genuine category-building opportunity, with the chance to shape new product capabilities and establish the design foundations for future growth. Working closely with the Head of Product and Planning team, leading silhouette development, fabrication direction and option architecture, balancing creative ambition with commercial objectives and defined OTB parameters. The successful talent will also contribute to category strategy and ensure collections are developed with clear commercial viability and key milestones in mind.
Collaboration will be central to the role, partnering closely with the Glasgow design lead to ensure a cohesive creative direction across premium and core collections, while working with Production and Sourcing on fabric selection, supplier development and lead times. The Senior Fashion Designer will use customer insights, sell-through data, competitor analysis and global trend intelligence – particularly across US, UK and European markets – to inform design decisions and respond quickly to fittings, market feedback and commercial performance.
The Senior Fashion Designer will have 6+ years of experience across occasion wear, suiting, premium or luxury categories, supported by strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit and fabrication. The successful talent will have a highly developed eye for silhouette, proportion and modern femininity, alongside the ability to move seamlessly between creative concepting and commercially informed decision-making. The Senior Fashion Designer will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring the agility, collaboration and creative ambition required to help shape the next phase of the brand’s global growth.
