Job Description

To join one of our 12-month Internships you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • You’re currently an undergraduate studying at University and returning to full time education in Autumn 2028
  • You’re looking to gain work experience after completing your A-Levels, an equivalent course or an Apprenticeship

Additionally, you must also:

  • Be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship from Monday 5

    July 2028
  • Be able to work in NBCUniversal's Central London office on-site fourdays per week

What will I be doing?

As Development intern, you will be working with and assisting Universal Global Television’s International Scripted Development team.

You will get first-hand experience in developing projects from initial idea to greenlight. The role involves managing submissions of materials, compiling project-specific research, reading and reporting on books and scripts. You will provide valuable support for the development team including day to day admin, updating of databases, creating and distributing regular alerts and memos as well as providing occasional cover for the Development Assistant.

What will I learn from this opportunity?

Editorial analysis

You will hone your editorial judgment by reading and assessing material.

You’ll learn to work to specific briefs from writer or development staff to collate research to support project development

You will gain and understanding of how the Studio works and how a project evolves from initial idea to a script to pitch to broadcasters

Qualifications

What do I need to bring to the role?

  • A curiousity and passion for scripted television, screenwriters, film and media in general and a desire to learn how TV is made
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and problem solving ability
  • Ability to work under pressure to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong IT skills – a confident user of Microsoft Office
