Live visuals across brand, music and culture
Location:
Central London studio, hybrid working with 2–3 days WFH per week
rapt is a London-based multimedia studio creating visual worlds for live shows, brand experiences and cultural projects around the world. We bring together moving image, real-time technology, light and sound to create experiences that people actually remember.
Our projects range from visual identities and content for arena tours to immersive product launches and large-scale multimedia installations. We work with global brands alongside musicians, collaborators and cultural institutions. Each project brings a different creative challenge: responding to an artist’s music, translating a brand into a physical experience, or developing an original artwork.
Experimentation is part of how we work. Alongside commissions, we develop and exhibit our own installations and performances, exploring new visual languages and ways for audiences to interact with them. That artistic practice keeps our commercial work curious and ambitious.
We’re a small, growing team with the creative and technical capability to take an idea from its first sketch to the live experience. Joining rapt means having a significant voice in that process, close collaboration across disciplines, and room to shape what the studio makes next.
The roleWe’re looking for a Creative Director with exceptional visual taste, strong conceptual thinking and direct experience creating visual content for live shows, product launches and brand experiences.
You’ll have come through making the work yourself in 3D, motion design, animation or real-time content, and progressed into directing artists and leading projects. You understand how to develop an idea into a coherent visual world, and how that world translates into content for a stage, a building or an unconventional canvas.
You may already be a Creative Director, or a Senior Art Director, Design Director or experienced motion/3D creative ready to step up. What matters is your body of live work and your experience leading teams, pitching ideas and working directly with clients.
Your primary focus will be content: developing concepts, establishing the visual language and directing its execution. You’ll be hands‑on during pitches and concept development, creating the frames, storyboards, mock‑ups or previs needed to communicate an idea. During production, you’ll lead the artists making the work, with the ability to jump on the tools when necessary.
There will also be opportunities to shape wider show concepts and experiences, collaborating with our existing Creative Director and technical specialists.
Creative ambition and production judgementYou need to know what it takes to make your ideas real: which people, how much time, what budget and which production approach.
That judgement should shape the creative from the start. You’ll scope content production, recognise risks early and adapt the approach when the budget or schedule demands it, while protecting what makes the idea compelling.
Our project manager supports scheduling, budgets and delivery. You remain responsible for shaping creative ideas around the available time, budget and team, and ensuring they can be delivered to the standard we expect.
You’ll be leading several pitches and projects simultaneously. Organisation, attention to detail and clear communication are essential.
What you’ll do Pitches and concept development- Understand the brief, the audience and the client’s objectives, then develop a distinctive creative response.
- Create visual concepts, narratives and a coherent visual language for each show or experience.
- Develop pitch decks and supporting visuals that make the idea clear and compelling.
