Visitor Assistant

Welcome visitors from across the globe at one of the world's most visited cultural institutions.

You’ll be part of a Visitor Experience Team - on a 10 month contract - at the heart of a busy, world famous visitor attraction. Every day brings new faces, new questions and new chances to make someone’s visit unforgettable.

• Welcome a diverse range of visitors and help them find their way around
• Proactively engage with visitors to make sure they get the most from their visit
• Manage visitor flow and queuing with a calm, friendly approach
• Follow policies and procedures to keep everyone safe
• Assist with emergency evacuations when needed
• Resolve visitor issues quickly, or escalation to the Duty Manager
• Work closely with teams across Learning, Security and the Café
• Greet visitors on arrival and set them up for a great visit
• Support opening and closing procedures

• Previous experience in a tourist venue or customer facing role
• Excellent customer service skills and a genuine warmth with people
• A positive, proactive attitude that doesn't waver under pressure
• Strong communication skills across all ages and backgrounds
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
• Flexibility across weekdays, weekends and occasional evenings
• A second language is a bonus
