Pay Rate: £14.47 per hour (PAYE) Temporary Contract Length: 3 Months

Full Time Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis Manchester City Council are looking for two proactive and customer-focused Estate Officers to join the Parks Service team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy a varied role, take pride in maintaining public spaces, and are committed to delivering excellent customer service. As an Estate Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality and responsive facilities management service, acting as a professional and helpful first point of contact for visitors, customers, and colleagues.
Day to Day of the role:
Provide a courteous, professional, and efficient service when dealing with enquiries from members of the public and internal customers. Resolve customer enquiries at the first point of contact wherever possible, escalating issues when required. Maintain parks, buildings, and facilities to agreed safety and security standards. Carry out routine inspections, safety checks, and basic maintenance tasks. Undertake general cleaning duties and use tools and equipment where required.
Support the management of financial resources in line with council procedures and financial regulations. Accurately update and extract information from management information systems. Input requests relating to inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Operate a range of equipment to ensure a safe environment for colleagues, visitors, and park users. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain the security of buildings, parks, allotments, open spaces, vehicles, and other council resources.
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Have excellent customer service and communication skills. Can work independently and use initiative to resolve issues. Have experience in facilities, estate, grounds, maintenance, or operational support environments. Understand the importance of health and safety and safe working practices. Are confident using systems to record and update information accurately. Can work flexibly as part of a rota covering 5 days out of 7.
