Job Summary
Part‑time (6 PAs) Specialty Doctor in Endodontics – 6 hygeist positions available in the Restorative Department at Barts Health Trust. The role is based in the Dental Hospital at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel. The post requires the provision of endodontic treatment and care at a high standard under the guidance of Consultants, support of Junior Dentists, involvement in day‑to‑day running of the Endodontic service and possible postgraduate clinical teaching activities.
MainDuties
- Provide endodontic treatment to patients in the Restorative Department.
- Support Junior Dentists caring for patients.
- Assist in the day‑to‑day running of the Endodontic service.
- Engage in teaching across the clinical team, supporting the learning of junior colleagues (STs and DCTs).
- Participate in professional dental responsibilities and maintain high standards of patient care.

- BDS or equivalent and full registration with the General Dental Council (UK)
- Postgraduate Masters qualification in Endodontics or equivalent
- At least 3 years post‑qualification experience in dentistry
- Experience of undertaking independent endodontic treatment
- Awareness of Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Data Protection and Patient Care legislations
- Knowledge and clinical experience of secondary care in Endodontics
- Willingness to take responsibility
- Ability to work unsupervised
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Flexible and cooperative with colleagues
- Able to communicate in lay terms and technical information to patients and dentists
- Able to communicate in verbal and written English to an appropriate standard
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check required under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
