We are excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 4 Dental Nurse to join the team at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals within UCLH. This role will provide experience across Adult Outpatients and Paediatric Dental Services in a leading tertiary dental environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Dental Nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and keen to develop specialist clinical skills within a supportive multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work alongside highly skilled clinicians and specialist teams, supporting a wide range of complex dental and surgical procedures while contributing to an exceptional patient experience.
We are looking for individuals who are organised, adaptable, caring and able to work effectively in a busy clinical setting. In return, UCLH offers excellent opportunities for continuing professional development, extended duties training and career progression within one of the UK’s leading NHS Trusts.
The post holder will provide high-quality chairside support to clinicians across a range of specialist dental services, ensuring safe, effective and patient-centred care at all times. Duties include preparing and maintaining clinical environments, supporting multidisciplinary clinics, sedation, and assisting with patient assessments and treatment procedures.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining infection prevention and control standards, preparing instruments and equipment, monitoring stock levels and ensuring dental units are fully equipped and compliant with Trust policies. The role also includes supporting patients who may be anxious or have additional communication needs, providing reassurance and promoting a positive patient experience.
You will work closely with Dental Sisters, Senior Dental Nurses and the wider clinical team, contributing to service improvement, clinical governance, audit and ongoing professional development. Flexibility, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential for this role.
