They pride themselves on creativity, technical excellence and a collaborative culture that attracts high‑performing individuals who thrive in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.

Job Purpose

The Technical Designer plays a pivotal role in transforming concept designs into fully coordinated, build‑ready technical information. You will be responsible for producing comprehensive drawing packs and supporting documentation that clearly communicate the design intent to clients, contractors and project teams.

Using Revit as our primary design and coordination tool, you will develop detailed construction drawing packages that accurately reflect the concept, cost plan and statutory requirements. You will also coordinate with specialist contractors (M&E, AV, etc.) to ensure all information is fully integrated and ready for site.

This role requires strong technical understanding, excellent coordination skills and a proactive approach to ensuring compliance with Building Control, Fire Regulations, Environmental Health and Planning requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Interpreting and developing the client brief using information from Concept and Pre‑Construction teams.
Staying up to date with current construction legislation and proactively identifying compliance requirements.
Completing or commissioning full measured and photographic building surveys prior to technical design development. Interpretation of Point Cloud scans and creating base build models from them.
Ensure engagement with our CDM Principal Designer & Building Regulation Principal Designer at an early stage.
Identifying risks relating to client objectives, proposed schemes and building constraints.
Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure designs remain within budget and meet technical and client requirements.
Communicating design progress clearly and efficiently to project teams and relevant parties.
Presenting key design elements aligned to construction program to obtain client sign‑off at each project stage.
Maintaining and updating the Design Risk Register from Concept through to Practical Completion.
Attending internal and external project meetings, including client meetings, and providing proactive technical problem‑solving input.
Supporting the development of the wider business and contributing to team upskilling.
Ensuring all drawings are accurate, up to date and correctly stored, including issuing drawing packs to Project Managers.
Reviewing concept schemes from all divisions to ensure statutory compliance and alignment with building constraints (fresh air, fire escapes, wc provisions, grids, ceilings, wet areas, etc.).
Liaising with Building Control and Planning, preparing and submitting required drawings and documentation.
Manage documentation to assist with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) approvals.
