Design Manager – Hospitality (Consultant-Based Role)

Location: Dubai, UAE

As part of our strategic expansion into the hospitality sector, we are seeking an experienced Design Manager – Hospitality to oversee and manage consultant-led design processes for our upcoming hospitality portfolio.

This is a Consultant-Based Design Management role.

The Design Manager will primarily operate at a consultant coordination and design management level, rather than site supervision. The focus of this role is to manage, review, and control the performance of external design consultants to ensure compliance, quality, coordination, and timely delivery of all design stages.

The Design Manager – Hospitality will report directly to:

Head of Design / Head of Hospitality Design

The Design Manager will oversee and coordinate with the following roles (where applicable):

• Senior Design Architect
• Project Architect
• MEP Design Manager / MEP Coordinator

• Manage and monitor external design consultants throughout Concept, PD, and DD stages.
• Review consultant submissions to ensure compliance with project brief, brand standards, authority regulations, and master developer DCR.
• Ensure timely delivery of design packages as per approved project schedules.
• Lead coordination meetings with all design disciplines.
• Evaluate consultant performance and enforce contractual obligations.

• Ensure full coordination between Architecture, Interior Design, MEP, Structural, and other disciplines.
• Take ownership in resolving multi-disciplinary design conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, NOCs, sustainability and environmental regulations.
• Review drawings prior to authority submissions.

• Periodically review project progress with the Head of Design.
• Ensure alignment with approved design direction and budget.
• Monitor project health, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Track variations, design changes, and scope adjustments.

• Initiate and manage RFPs during design stages.
• Support procurement of design-related consultants.
• Assist in technical evaluation of consultant proposals.

• Support Sales and Marketing teams with design inputs when required.
• Attend authority and stakeholder meetings when needed.
• Assist in improving internal design workflows and processes.

• AutoCAD (2D & 3D)
• Sketch Up (Optional)
• MS Project

• Strong experience in hospitality design management within a developer or PMC environment.
• Extensive consultant management experience (not site-based supervision).
• Strong understanding of UAE authority regulations and hospitality standards.
• Proven leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness with budget and schedule control experience.
