Overview of the Role
A Part II Architectural Assistant job is available with a RIBA Chartered practice based in South West London. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-end residential and hospitality projects across the UK and internationally.
The successful Part II Architectural Assistant will contribute across multiple RIBA Stages, supporting both concept development and the preparation of detailed and technical information. The role will suit a design-led candidate with experience in high-quality residential or hospitality architecture and strong UK project exposure.
This position provides involvement in prestigious private residential schemes, listed building refurbishments, and international hospitality developments.
Practice & Project InformationThe practice is a RIBA Chartered studio with a portfolio spanning high-end residential, hospitality, and listed building projects.
UK commissions include master planning of major estates, new-build residential villas and apartments, and the refurbishment of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings in central London. Internationally, the studio delivers new-build hotels and resorts, private residences, and masterplans for planned communities.
The team works across new build and refurbishment schemes, often requiring careful coordination with consultant teams and specialist contractors. Projects typically progress through all RIBA Stages, from concept design through to construction and site delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing design proposals and construction information for high-end residential and hospitality projects
- Developing concept, detailed and technical design packages across relevant RIBA Stages
- Preparing planning documentation and supporting submissions
- Coordinating with external consultants and wider design teams
- Preparing tender information and construction documentation, including drawings and NBS specifications
- Assisting with product, material and finishes selection
- Attending site inspections and supporting construction stage activities
- Part II qualified with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience
- At least 3 years' professional experience working in the UK
- Experience on high-end residential and/or hospitality projects
- Ability to demonstrate strong design and presentation skills
- Experience preparing concept, detailed and technical design information
- Experience producing construction documentation and NBS specifications
- Understanding of product and material specification
- Site experience and familiarity with supply chain coordination
- Well organised, self-motivated and confident communicator
- Knowledge of Vectorworks is highly desirable
- Salary of £30,000 - £38,000, dependent on experience
