Senior Technical Designer – Commercial D&B

£55,000 - £65,000 + Package I Permanent I London I Revit

A well-established London D & B studio is looking for a Senior Technical Designer to sit at the centre of design and delivery, taking ownership of projects as they move from concept into technical development and on to site. This is a hands‑on role working predominantly across RIBA stages 3–5, acting as the key link between the creative team and in‑house delivery.

You’ll be trusted to push projects forward, support early‑stage designers where needed, and ensure that ideas translate into well‑executed, buildable projects. The position suits someone who enjoys being close to the detail, confident in front of clients, and comfortable navigating the commercial and practical realities of workplace fit‑out projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical development across RIBA stages 3–5, ensuring design intent is maintained through to delivery
  • Support early‑stage teams where required, helping shape projects so they’re set up for smooth technical progression
  • Produce and manage detailed drawing packages in Revit, ready for construction
  • Work closely with the in‑house delivery team, taking designs through to site and resolving issues as they arise
  • Manage client relationships and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Contribute to pitches and presentations when needed, adding technical insight and credibility
Requirements
  • Strong Revit skills, with the ability to lead and produce high‑quality technical packages
  • Genuine interest in later‑stage design and delivery, with a detail‑focused mindset
  • Proven experience in workplace interiors and fit‑out projects
  • Background working within an AJ100 practice
  • Design & Build experience highly advantageous
  • Confident, client-facing personality with strong communication skills
  • Engaging, sociable character who works well across teams and with external partners
