Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Experience Design Manager to join our growing team across the London area. This is a key leadership role focused on shaping and delivering exceptional user and stakeholder experiences across large-scale, complex projects. You will play a central role in aligning design strategy with business objectives, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects quality, innovation, and efficiency.

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of experience design strategies across major projects, working closely with project directors, commercial teams, and delivery partners to ensure seamless integration of design solutions. You will champion user-centric design principles throughout the full project lifecycle, from early concept through to delivery, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

A key part of your responsibility will be managing and mentoring a multidisciplinary design team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will engage directly with clients and stakeholders, translating complex requirements into practical, high-quality design outcomes. Additionally, you will drive innovation in design processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and project impact.

About You

* Proven experience in an Experience Design, Design Management, or similar leadership role.

* Strong background working with a main contractor and delivering major infrastructure or construction projects.

* Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-value projects from concept through to delivery.

* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

* A strategic mindset with a strong attention to detail.

* Ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience

* Experience on large-scale UK or international projects.

* Familiarity with digital design tools, BIM, and emerging design technologies.

* Relevant professional qualifications in design, engineering, architecture, or a related field
