London (Hybrid Working)
£70,000 – £80,000 + Package
A growing Main Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join their team, working across a portfolio of residential schemes in London.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex fire remediation, cladding replacement, and refurbishment projects, ensuring compliance with the latest Building Safety regulations.
The Role
You will take ownership of design delivery through to completion, working closely with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to drive programmes and ensure technical excellence. You’ll be involved in projects ranging from cladding remediation to new build residential with the initial focus being legacy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design coordination across architects, structural, and MEP consultants from feasibility through to completion.
Manage the design process on remediation projects including fire safety and cladding packages.
Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, and relevant regulations.
Review and approve drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
Liaise with Building Control, warranty providers, and statutory authorities to secure approvals.
Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure programme and quality targets are achieved.
Provide technical support to delivery teams and oversee design-related issues on site.
Monitor works to ensure compliance with design intent and safety standards.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar within a Main Contractor environment.
Strong background in residential schemes, New build, remediation, refurbishment, or fire safety projects.
Solid understanding of Building Safety Act, Gateway processes, and compliance requirements.
Experience managing consultants and complex design packages.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
