You will work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered accurately, sustainably, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities Technical Documentation:
Prepare and coordinate detailed drawing packages, tender documents, and construction drawings using AutoCAD or Vectorworks. Detailing & Specifications:
Create robust, high-quality construction details (roofing, cladding, waterproofing, etc.) and write comprehensive material specifications. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all designs comply with local Building Regulations, planning policies, and health and safety standards. Collaboration & Coordination:
Work alongside internal design teams and external consultants (structural engineers, MEP, etc.) to integrate technical systems into the architectural design. Site Support:
Attend site meetings, conduct surveys, and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors to resolve on-site technical issues. Quality Control:
Conduct technical reviews of drawings and documents to ensure accuracy and consistency before project submission. Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a closely related field. Professional accreditation (e.g., CIAT, MCIAT, or regional equivalent) is highly desirable. Software Expertise:
* Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks is required. Familiarity with BIM software (like Revit) or 3D modeling tools (Sketch Up, Rhino) is a strong advantage. Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Architectural Technologist or Technical Designer, preferably across [Residential / Commercial / Mixed-use] sectors. Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of building physics, construction methods, structural principles, and material performance. Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients or contractors.
