Studio Egret West is looking for a Part 1 architectural assistant to join its practice in London.

With an expanding portfolio of UK and international projects, we are looking for a talented Part 1 architectural assistant to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent academic background and demonstrate curiosity about the social, environmental and cultural factors that shape great places.

Your role

As a Part 1 architectural assistant, you will work as part of multidisciplinary project teams, supporting the development of innovative architecture and urban design projects from concept through to detailed design. You will contribute to a wide variety of project work while developing your technical, design and professional skills within a collaborative studio environment.

Your responsibilities will include
  • assisting with concept design, design development and presentation material
  • producing high-quality drawings, models, diagrams and visualisations
  • supporting project teams with design research, precedent studies and site analysis
  • preparing planning, design and presentation documents
  • working collaboratively with architects, urban designers, landscape architects and other specialists across the practice
  • participating in design reviews, workshops and client presentations
  • developing your BIM and technical skills while contributing to project delivery
Required
  • demonstrable creativity and talent for design
  • exposure to large-scale, mixed-use or urban design projects through practice, placement or academic work
  • experience working in 3D CAD systems
  • strong graphic communication and presentation skills
  • proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • experience producing physical and/or digital models
  • enthusiasm for collaborative, multidisciplinary working
  • the right to work in the UK
Desirable skills and qualifications
  • a professional degree or diploma in architecture, urban design or a related discipline
  • experience using Revit would be advantageous
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • good organisational and coordination skills, with attention to detail
  • an interest in placemaking, regeneration and sustainable design
