The studio and workshop in London are equipped with specialist tools, including in‑house CNC, large‑format printing, and vinyl cutting facilities. A large workshop and dedicated design studio are home to problem‑solvers and artists who enjoy tackling complex, detailed projects.
Role DescriptionThis Designer Project Lead role is based in London. The Designer Project Lead will oversee the design process from concept through fabrication, translating client briefs into clear design directions and technical specifications. Responsibilities include developing design concepts, preparing drawings and mock‑ups, coordinating with workshop and studio teams, and ensuring projects meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements. The role involves direct communication with clients and partners, managing timelines, prioritising tasks, and resolving design challenges in a fast‑paced environment.
The Designer Project Lead will also contribute to continuous improvement of studio processes and support a collaborative, inclusive working culture.
- Strong skills in design development, concept visualisation, and translating creative ideas into practical solutions.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary creative projects, including set design, events, installations, or related fields.
- Proficiency with relevant design and drafting software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Vectorworks, etc.) and understanding of fabrication processes.
- Ability to plan and manage project timelines, coordinate resources, and oversee production in a workshop or studio environment.
- Clear, professional communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Attention to detail, strong problem‑solving abilities, and comfort working under time pressure on last‑minute or complex briefs.
- Experience working with CNC, large‑format print, or vinyl cutting equipment is an advantage.
- Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in design, art direction, theatre production, or a related discipline.
