OMNES was founded in London in 2021 to address the gap in access to better wardrobe choices and create a brand that would speak to this unmet need.

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Soft Wovens Designer to support the development of our seasonal collections across dresses, occasion wear and elevated woven separates.

You will work closely with the design and buying teams, helping translate the agreed category strategy into commercially strong, distinctive product. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can take ownership of designs from initial concept through sampling, fittings and production handover.

The role will suit someone with a strong eye for contemporary womenswear, particularly dresses and occasion wear, who understands how to balance creativity with price, margin, fit and volume potential.

• Design commercially relevant soft-woven product across dresses, blouses, skirts, trousers, shirts, tailoring separates and occasion wear.
• Work closely with the Head of Buying on seasonal direction, category plans, option counts, pricing and key product opportunities.
• Research trends, fabrics, colour, print, styling and competitor activity, translating insight into relevant product ideas.
• Create sketches, CADs, mood boards, design packs and detailed supplier briefs.
• Develop fabrics, prints, trims, colours and finishes with suppliers.
• Ensure all designs meet agreed target costs, retail prices and margin requirements.
• Manage sample development from first prototype through to final approval.
• Attend fit sessions and work closely with Product and Technical teams to improve fit, construction and quality.
• Communicate clearly with suppliers, ensuring comments, approvals and development requirements are delivered on time.
• Keep all design information accurate, organised and production-ready.
• Support the wider design and buying team with seasonal range reviews and product presentations.

• Proven experience as a Womenswear Designer specialising in soft wovens.
• Strong experience across dresses, occasion wear and elevated separates.
• Commercial understanding of the contemporary womenswear market.
• Strong sketching, CAD and technical pack skills.
• Comfortable working independently and managing several developments at once.
• Good understanding of fabrics, print, colour, fit and construction.
• Experience working directly with overseas suppliers is preferred.
• Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working to a fast-paced critical path.

Freelance role with an immediate start. London-based, with regular time in the office preferred.
