Job Description

Wise is building an open, fair and human financial system. As a Staff Designer on the Receive squad, you will be the most senior designer, reporting to the Design Director for Money movement. You’ll serve personal, business and platform customers, creating experiences that work across all three. The goal is to double the volume of payments our customers bring into Wise by the end of 2027, improving adoption, retention and acceptance.

  . Make it obvious what we offer and how to use it. Customers should find their details without asking and understand feature value easily.

  . Build stable and reliable experiences that customers can depend on for income that matters. Provide clear ways to understand, repair, and recover when issues occur.
• Systems
  . Design patterns that scale across many currencies and payment methods, turning fragmented local solutions into one coherent experience.

• Own the toughest design problems end to end, setting the craft standard for the squad.
• Build a deep, first‑hand understanding of how people and businesses get paid globally and where the experience breaks down.
• Shape the design strategy for Receive, articulating the current, next and future states and aligning work to committed outcomes.
• Apply systems thinking to unify dozens of currencies and payment methods into a single experience.
• Drive vision with evidence‑backed direction that informs the Receive roadmap.
• Elevate squad quality through feedback, critiques and skill shares.
• Integrate AI tools where they add value and guide the team on responsible use.

• Most senior designer on a complex product area, owning ambiguous problems end to end.
• Experience designing for multiple markets, formats or edge cases without fragmenting into special cases.
• History of owning strategy, with metrics you helped define and work that moved them.
• Prototyping-focused, exploring multiple approaches and articulating trade‑offs clearly for senior stakeholders.
• Strong visual skills, high craft bar, and experience with design systems that scale.
• Committed to improving the skills of fellow designers through open design, direct feedback, and credit sharing.
• Active user of AI tools with a clear viewpoint on where they help and where they don’t.
