Assistant Design Manager

Location:

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000/annum doe

Every Fuller's pub has its own personality. Whether we're carefully restoring a historic building or refreshing a well-loved local, thoughtful design plays a key role in creating spaces that our customers enjoy and our teams are proud to work in.

We are looking for an Assistant Design Manager to join our Estates team and help deliver refurbishment and development projects across our estate. Working alongside the Design Manager, you'll take ownership of the design process from brief through to completion, ensuring each project reflects the character of the pub while meeting the operational needs of the business.

This is a hands‑on role that combines creativity with project coordination. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, designers, surveyors, Business Development Managers and suppliers to deliver high-quality schemes on time and within budget.

What you'll be doing
  • Managing the design elements of refurbishment and development projects across our estate.
  • Interpreting project briefs and developing practical, creative design solutions.
  • Ensuring designs support the operational requirements of each business.
  • Appointing and managing external designers or undertaking the design work yourself where appropriate.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, value and consistency.
  • Sourcing new suppliers and products where required.
  • Managing stock inventories and supporting effective stock rotation.
  • Working closely with Surveyors, Business Development Managers and other stakeholders throughout each project.
What we're looking for

You’ll have experience coordinating design or refurbishment projects and enjoy balancing creativity with organisation. You’re confident managing multiple priorities, communicating with a wide range of people and making informed decisions to keep projects moving.

We're also looking for someone who has:

  • Experience managing suppliers and sourcing products.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A structured and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Experience in hospitality, interiors and design trends.
  • An understanding of project management and refurbishment projects.
  • Good IT skills, with knowledge of CAD being an advantage.
  • The successful candidate must hold a valid driving licence and be able to travel across the estate as required.

In return, you’ll join a business with over 180 years of heritage, where quality, individuality and great design remain at the heart of everything we do. You’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact across our pub estate while working with a supportive team that values collaboration, creativity and continuous improvement.
