The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Transport Designer to join our London studio.

This role is ideally suited to designers with 2 to 3 years of professional experience within the aviation, rail, automotive, marine or wider mobility sectors, gained either within a consultancy environment or in-house/client-side design team.

As part of our multidisciplinary design team, you will contribute to projects from discovery and research through to concept development, visualisation and implementation. You will work closely with strategists, researchers, CMF designers, engineers and client teams to create compelling transport and passenger experiences that balance user needs, operational requirements and commercial objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of transport design projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Generate innovative and user-centred design concepts across aviation, rail, automotive, marine and mobility sectors.
  • Develop high-quality sketches, renderings, visualisations and design presentations.
  • Create and refine 3D CAD models using industry-standard software.
  • Translate research, customer insights and strategic direction into meaningful design solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, workshops and client presentations.
  • Produce compelling storytelling and communication materials.
  • Contribute to model-making, prototyping and concept evaluation activities where required.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in transport, mobility, technology and passenger experience.
  • Support business development activities and proposal creation where appropriate.
Skills & Experience (Required)
  • BA or MA degree in Transport Design, Automotive Design, Industrial Design or a related design discipline.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of professional design experience within aviation, rail, automotive, marine or mobility sectors, either within a consultancy or client-side organisation.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, design thinking and high-quality design execution.
  • Excellent sketching, ideation and visual communication skills.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Alias, Rhino, Solid Works or similar.
  • Strong visualisation and rendering skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of design development processes and production considerations.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently both visually and verbally.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Experience designing passenger experiences, vehicle interiors, cabin concepts or transportation products.
  • Knowledge of CMF development and specification.
  • Experience with Blender, Key Shot or other visualisation tools.
  • Awareness of human factors, ergonomics and user-centred design principles.
  • Experience participating in client workshops and co-creation sessions.
  • Prototyping and model-making experience.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled design workflows.
  • Additional language skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required.

Location

This position is based in our London studio.

Hybrid working is available, with team members expected to spend three days of their time in the studio collaborating with colleagues and clients.
