DESIGN MANAGER | LONDON
Greater London / Wembley
Major Residential & Affordable Housing Projects
Permanent
Are you a Design Manager with an architecture or architectural technology background who enjoys turning design intent into something that can actually be built?
I'm looking to speak with experienced Design Managers for a contractor-side, design-to-delivery opportunity across major London residential schemes.
This is not a BIM-only or MEP Design Manager role. The focus is on architecture-led, multidisciplinary design management from Stage 3 through Stage 4 / Stage 5 and into construction.
What you'll be involved in- Managing architects, consultants and specialist designers
- Driving Stage 4 / Stage 5 technical design
- Coordinating architecture, structure, facade, fire and MEP
- Reviewing drawings for buildability and compliance
- Managing RFIs, technical submissions and design changes
- BIM / Revit / Navisworks coordination
- Supporting procurement and specialist design packages
- Value engineering and resolving technical risks
- Staying close to site through construction and handover
- Architecture / Architectural Technology background
- Contractor-side Design Management experience
- Residential, affordable housing or mixed-use project experience
- Strong Stage 3 / 4 / 5 technical coordination
- Good understanding of facades, fire, structure and MEP interfaces
- Strong Building Regulations and buildability knowledge
- Confidence managing consultants and challenging design information
- Higher-Risk Buildings
- Building Safety Act / BSR
- Gateway processes
- Golden Thread information
- Multi-storey residential schemes
If you've moved from architecture into contractor-side design management and want real ownership over what gets delivered on site, I'd love to hear from you.
