Ladies & Girlswear Outerwear Designer

We're recruiting a Womenswear/Girlswear Designer for a leading supplier, working with a fun, vibrant team on a brilliant opportunity to collaborate with some fantastic UK retailers. If you're a fashion-forward, trend-led designer looking for a one-year contract, this could be the perfect next step.

• Support the planning and design of ladies' and girls' outerwear ranges
• Design CADs for buyer presentations and internal ranges
• Create tech packs to ensure samples are made accurately
• Keep sample trackers up to date
• Maintain fabric and trim libraries
• Liaise with internal merchandising teams in Shanghai
• Build relationships with buying teams through regular communication
• Handle office admin, including post and keeping rails/folders tidy
• Produce shop reports covering competition and inspiration
• Update trend packs and proactively source new fabrics
• Keep systems such as One Drive up to date with relevant documents
• Pull together initial trend packs each season, covering key shapes, fabrics, colour, graphics and mood
• Take part in inspirational shopping trips abroad
• Develop skills on new software such as CLO 3D

• Essential: experience in women's or girlswear design
• Preferred but not essential: outerwear experience
• Essential: excellent CAD skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Advantageous:
  Excel and CLO 3D skills
• Superb communication and presentation skills
• Ability to develop commercial yet forward-thinking fashion ranges for a long-lead-time supplier
• Ability to work at a fast pace as part of a great team
• A positive, determined attitude
