Senior Interior Architect

Overview of the Role

A Senior Interior Architect is required to join a growing residential design studio in Surrey. This part-time role (3 days/week) will focus on technically detailed high-end residential projects across Surrey and London, working from concept and detailed design through procurement and implementation.

The studio works on high-end residential renovations and new-build projects. This is a predominantly studio-based position, with regular travel to project sites across Surrey and London. The successful candidate will also contribute to developing drawing standards, specifications, schedules, document control and wider project-delivery processes.

• Produce technical packages including plans, elevations, sections, setting-out drawings, lighting and electrical layouts
• Develop detailed bespoke joinery, kitchen and bathroom design packages
• Produce Sketch Up models, presentations, specifications and material schedules
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, suppliers and specialist trades
• Review contractor and supplier drawings and resolve technical queries during construction
• Support procurement, approvals, project administration and improvements to studio systems and processes

• 5+ years’ professional interior design or interior architecture studio experience
• Strong experience delivering substantial high-end residential projects in the UK
• Strong technical drawing, detailing, bespoke joinery and residential construction knowledge
• Experience coordinating lighting, electrical layouts, consultants, contractors and specialist trades
• Excellent organisation, communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple work streams independently
• Excellent AutoCAD skills with strong Sketch Up, Adobe, Photoshop and Microsoft 365 capability
• A valid driver’s license and access to a car for commuting

Permanent position working three days per week with a salary fully dependent on experience. Predominantly studio-based in Surrey, with flexibility to work remotely one day per week where appropriate. Regular project travel across Surrey and London.
