Senior Designer Girls - Leisure​/Performance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Senior Girlswear Designer specialising in Leisurewear and Performance to join an established supplier to some of the UK high street’s leading retailers. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative, commercially minded designer who understands the girlswear market (ladies wear experience also excepted) and has a passion for developing trend-led, fashion forward collections. Working within a friendly, fast-paced and dedicated team, you will play a key role in shaping seasonal ranges, building strong relationships with buying teams and supporting the development of a design team.

• Research emerging trends, colours, fabrics, prints, graphics and silhouettes to develop innovative seasonal concepts.
• Design and develop girls’ leisurewear and performance ranges, working collaboratively with your team.
• Create high-quality CADs and presentations for buyer meetings and internal collections.
• Produce detailed technical packs to ensure accurate product development and sampling.
• Source new fabrics and trims, maintaining relevant and inspiring libraries each season.
• Explore and develop your skills using emerging AI design tools, including Fermat.
• Support and manage a small design team, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.
• Build strong working relationships with buying teams, presenting ideas and developing ranges in line with their requirements.
• Liaise regularly with the merchandising teams in Shanghai to ensure smooth communication and product development.
• Oversee sample tracking to keep the team organised and the development process running efficiently.
• Produce regular competitor and inspirational shop reports.
• Create and update seasonal trend packs, highlighting key shapes, fabrics, colours, graphics and moods.

• Previous experience in ladies wear or girlswear design, ideally with exposure to leisurewear or performance apparel.
• Excellent CAD skills, with strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
• A strong understanding of fashion trends, fabrics, colour and product development.
• The ability to create commercially relevant yet forward-thinking collections for high street retailers.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• The confidence to support and manage a small team while working collaboratively with wider departments.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive, determined and flexible attitude, with a genuine passion for design.
