Closing date: 21 January 2026

We are looking for a consultant to join our Integrated CAMHS/Paediatric Day Patient Eating Disorders Service. The role is a part‑time 6PA clinical post; for those looking to progress there is also the option of adding the 4PA Clinical Director of the Eating Disorders Service role to the clinical post.

As a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist in Eating Disorders, you will work in the day patient programme and support the paediatric team at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital with inpatient refeeding. You will lead and help shape this highly innovative development in eating disorders for the Trust.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide clinical leadership for the CAMHS/paediatric day patient services.
  • Provide ED liaison alongside Paediatrics for patients admitted to paediatric wards at Chel West.
  • Review relevant patients in Tier 4 CYP/ED units to support step‑down to day care.
  • Lead development and evaluation of these treatment pathways in collaboration with therapy leads.
  • Provide clinical assessments for new referrals (typically one or two new assessments weekly).
  • Provide psychiatric input to the care of day patients.
  • Work closely with other stakeholders in the provision of CYPED services across NW London (including the CAMHS PC, WLHT CYP CEDS, paediatrics and specialist inpatient services) to ensure equity of access and well‑integrated care pathways for all patients and their families.
  • Cross‑cover and collaborate with CYP and Adult consultant colleagues.
  • Active membership of the VSEDS Senior Leadership Team and Care Quality Group.
About us

The Eating Disorder Service was established in 2002 and has developed significantly over more than 20 years. The majority of services are provided at South Kensington & Chelsea Mental Health Unit (SK&C MHU), with further outpatient facilities in North West London. The directorate provides specialist services for children, young people (CYP) and adults with all types of eating disorders. The foundations of the directorate are strong, with a full range of multidisciplinary staff and six consultant colleagues.

Significant new investment in all age services has increased capacity in both CYP and adult services and supported service developments. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic consultant to take the service into the future as its new Clinical Director.

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is a nationally leading NHS Foundation Trust providing Mental Health, Community Health and Child Health Services across London and the South East of England.
