We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our paediatric haematology service to help further drive developments in our service and to complement the current team members. The paediatric haematology service provides multi‑disciplinary care to children with non‑malignant haematology conditions including haemoglobinopathies, bleeding disorders and general non‑malignant haematology (including bone marrow failure syndromes and immunohaematology).
The service sits within the Children's Directorate, recently rated Outstanding by the CQC, and benefits from excellent working relationships with a wide range of paediatric sub‑specialties and a busy consultative service.

Clinical responsibilities of this post:
This is a fixed term (12 months) 6PA post based rge's Hospital.
The paediatric haematology team currently run 5 non‑malignant haematology clinics per week including subspecialty clinics in haemoglobinopathy and haemostasis along with a number of joint clinics with other specialities. The team also supports PICU, NICU, general paediatrics, foetal medicine, paediatric oncology and infectious diseases with an extensive consult service. It provides a tertiary advice service to surrounding hospitals in the South West Thames region.
The aim will be to develop further services within the local community and develop services with our regional DGH partners. The service is also keen to develop its research profile.

- Essential: Full and specialist registration (and with a licence to practice) with GMC or be eligible for specialist registration within 6 months of interview or equivalent experience
- Essential: MRCP or evidence of equivalence or MRCPCH or evidence of equivalence
- Essential: Applicants that are UK trained, must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
- Essential: Applicants that are non‑UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
- Essential: FRCPath or equivalence
- Desirable: Higher Qualification in non‑malignant haematology
- Essential: Broad experience in non‑malignant paediatric haematology including haemoglobinopathies, bleeding disorders, bone marrow failure syndromes and congenital anaemias
- Essential: Minimum of 12 months experience in acute general paediatrics, including neonatology
- Essential: Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of paediatric haematology patients
- Essential: Competent to perform bone marrow biopsies independently
- Essential: Level 3 safeguarding training
- Desirable: Teaching experience
- Desirable: Experience in bone marrow transplant for non‑malignant blood disorders
- Desirable: Experience in paediatric oncology
