We are excited to advertise a 10‑post as a Consultant Cardiologist with subspecialty expertise in Cardiac Imaging with cross‑site commitments between Hillingdon and Harefield Hospitals.
The successful candidate will contribute to the general cardiology work: ward rounds, outpatient clinics, referral vetting and GP advice and guidance at Hillingdon, overseeing the echocardiography department and chairing a weekly imaging MDT (4 days). At Harefield there will be a day of imaging tailored to the candidate’s subspecialty interests (1 day).
This post is a 12‑month fixed‑term locum, with a potential substantive role thereafter.
The post holder will be a committed clinician with subspecialty training in Imaging Cardiology and will have a track record of excellent clinical service delivery, service improvement, teaching, training and other qualities as identified in the person specification.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical care to both inpatients and outpatients ensuring the highest standard of diagnosis, treatment and care.
- Supervise, train and manage junior medical staff and research fellows within Hillingdon Cardiology, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and efficient use of resources.
Hillingdon Hospital is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust employs over 3,300 staff and manages 614 inpatient beds.
Person Specification- Full GMC Registration with License to Practice
- Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via:
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview)
- Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
- Subspecialty expertise in cardiac imaging
- Experience of clinical audit and delivery of good practice
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary
: £109,725 to £145,478 a year incl. £2,162 HCA
