Consultant in Neurology

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Neurology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their Medicine department.

Our client currently provides general hospital services to a population of approximately 500,000 and some tertiary referral, specialist services to a considerably larger population of 1.2 million. The Oncology Centre is based within the hospital and receives approximately 8,000 new referrals each year. The Centre has a custom designed department which opened in April 1993 and dedicated radiotherapy facilities. The Centre serves a population of 1.2 million and covers various areas and provides a comprehensive service for adult solid tumours.

• Provide a high standard of care to any patient for whom you have clinical responsibility. This includes patients referred to you and cared for by you personally or by members of your team, and patients of consultant colleagues when you are covering annual leave.
• Participate in clinical and other service activities and developments with the aim of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
• Work in close cooperation with other medical, professional and managerial colleagues, both within and outside the specialty, to provide high quality health care to the Trust's patients and contribute to the Trust's strategic direction.
• Participate fully in the clinical governance agenda of the specialty and care group, and actively participate in departmental audits, sharing coordination of audit activities within the department and implementation of change.
