Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant Haematologist to join our Clinical Haematology department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The candidate will be based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and join the existing consultant group and broader teams. The role involves delivering general laboratory, general inpatient, outpatient, advice & guidance, and haemato‑oncology services while upholding the Trust values and ensuring the highest quality care to patients with haematological conditions.
Responsibilities- Support the Clinical Haematology department, including Laboratory Haematology (Pathology) and a Haematology consultation service to other departments (e.g., Women’s and Children’s Services).
- Deliver general laboratory, inpatient, outpatient, and haemato‑oncology services as part of the well‑established team.
- Participate in the delivery of the outpatient clinic program; the number and mix of clinics will be discussed with the post‑holder (including haematological malignancies, general haematology, haemoglobinopathies, venous thromboembolic disease, and thrombophilia).
- Jointly responsible for ensuring learning opportunities for junior doctors.
- Review and update relevant SOPs when necessary.
- Participate in the administration relating to the consultant’s clinic.
- Undertake any other administrative activities required by the Clinical Director and Service Lead.
