Job Summary
Barts Health NHS Trust – Consultant Cardiologist specialising in Cardio‑Oncology and either Cardiac Imaging or Heart Failure. Post based at St Bartholomew's Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver inpatient and outpatient care across cardio‑oncology, imaging, and heart failure services.
- Lead and supervise clinical activities in cardio‑oncology, cardiac imaging, and heart failure across both sites.
- Represent the trust in multidisciplinary teams, national and international training initiatives, and regional MDTs.
- Participate in weekend general cardiology on‑call rota (currently 1 in 9).
- Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training of staff.
- Engage in research, audit, quality improvement and CPD activities.
- Lead or support service development and the establishment of new services.
- GMC registration with licence to practice.
- CCT in Cardiology (or within 6 months of award at interview).
- Sub‑specialty expertise in cardio‑oncology.
- Advanced training in either cardiac imaging (BSE, CMR Level 3 or equivalent) or heart failure.
- Evidence of independent service development and audit/quality research.
- Experience of setting up new services and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Recognition of higher degree (MD/PhD), certification in Cardio‑Oncology (ICOS/ESC), and international fellowship experience are desirable.
- Expertise in cardiovascular complications of cancer therapy.
- Competence in advanced imaging modalities and heart failure management.
- Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.

- Willingness to travel across both sites and adapt to service needs.
Grade:
Consultant – Full‑time permanent role at a salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 per annum. Appointment schedule: approximately 8.5–10 clinical activities per week with 1.5 supporting activities, plus weekend on‑call participation.
