We are seeking a new GP Partner to join our practice following the planned retirement of a long-standing partner.
The role
- All partners work six sessions per week
- Ideal start date: 1st August 2026, with flexibility by agreement
- Primary care GP duties
- Involvement in management and governance of the practice
- Active engagement with the Primary Care Network (PCN) and local GP Federation
Elizabeth Avenue Group Practice is a well‑established, medium‑size GP surgery (c.7,500 patients) with four GP partners. The partnership is supportive, collaborative and innovative, and central to the practice’s success.
Islington offers a vibrant, diverse population, providing wide clinical variety and professional satisfaction.
We work from purpose‑built, practice‑owned premises with on‑site parking. The practice performs strongly across all key measures, including excellent QOF and enhanced services delivery, consistently strong financial performance, and very positive patient feedback.
We are supported by a stable, experienced multidisciplinary team including salaried GPs, practice nurses, HCA, clinical pharmacists, social prescriber, first‑contact physiotherapist, and a skilled admin and management team.
Training We are an established GP training practice with education and supervision embedded in our culture.
IT and innovation We have a strong track record in IT and innovation and were early adopters of total triage using online consultation, which underpins our current model of care.
Wider involvement Our GPs hold portfolio and leadership roles across the ICB, GP Federation, LMC, GP appraisal, occupational health and medico‑legal work.
Job responsibilities- 6 session per week GP partner post
- All sessions based on site at the GP surgery
- Weekly partnership meeting, and biweekly practice meeting
- Qualified GP registered with the General Medical Council
- On the NHS performers list
- A GP trainer, actively training to become a GP trainer, or willing to begin the GP trainer accreditation process shortly after joining the practice
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
