Barts Health NHS Trust Consultant Physician in Acute and General Medicine with a Specialty Interest8 PA Post Whipps Cross Hospital

Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust Group is looking for a less than full time (0.8 WTE) Consultant Physician in Acute and General Medicine in a substantive post. You will be joining a department that currently has 10 Consultant Acute Physicians with Specialty Interest.

The post offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and to develop new models of working and services that support all patients attending the hospital and within the local community. This is an exciting opportunity to play a role in developing the department and wider services for the future.

You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council and be on the Specialist Registrar or within 6 months of obtaining CCT. Informal discussions and visits are encouraged and, should you have a specialty interest, advanced discussion as to whether this would fit within the clinical framework of Whipps Cross University Hospital is strongly recommended

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Full GMC Registration with license to practice
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of date of advisory appointments committee via one of the following:
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview)
  • Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
  • European Community Rights
  • Evidence of participation in research (peer reviewed publications etc.)
Clinical Experience
  • Higher specialist training in Speciality Interest and G(I)
    Medicine or Acute Medicine
  • Broad experience in Speciality and G(I)
    M/Acute Medicine
  • Current ALS certificate
