Overview

This position is based in the new University College Hospital, and provides specific training and experience in General Surgery, experience on the wards, clinics and theatres weekly. This position will suit someone with an interest in Vascular Surgery.

We are looking for a core surgery level doctor to join our exciting general surgical team. The post-holder will work under the direction of the General Surgical Consultants and Specialist Trainees as part of the acute on-call team.

• Clerking patients, initiating management plans, and supporting patient flow to ASU or the wards when other team members are in theatre.
• Providing support and leadership to more junior staff on the team.
• Ensuring equal training opportunities for all members of the team.

Your on‑call rota will depend on demand of the service and your experience: "General Surgery RSO rota" or "General Surgery Resident Doctor rota".
