Senior (Post-CCT) Clinical Fellow in Hair & Nail Disorder

This post offers bespoke specialist training in Hair and Nail Disorders and the overlap of Dermatology with Endocrinology. It is designed to give experience managing patients with complex scalp and hair disorders and endocrine pathologies influencing hair physiology, and to involve successful candidates in clinical research on adolescent and adult alopecias.
Main duties of the job- Receive subspecialist training and further development in hair and nail disorders and endocrinopathies relevant to alopecias.
- Deliver clinical and other service activities to provide a high standard of care for patients with hair and nail disorders.
- Contribute to clinical research activities of St. John's Institute of Dermatology.
- Be an active member of the multidisciplinary hair and nails team.
- Undertake outpatient clinics (general hair and nails; advanced therapeutics).
- Provide required medical support for patients needing advanced and immunosuppressive therapies.
- Maintain continuing clinical responsibility for patients in your charge.
- Support clinical research (commercial and non-commercial).
- Engage in Endocrinology clinics to understand relevance of endocrine pathology in alopecias.
- Engage in audit and quality service improvement activities.

Job responsibilities- Full GMC registration and license to practice.
- MRCP(UK) or equivalent.
- Specialist interest in Endocrinology.
- Comprehensive clinical experience in Dermatology and its subspecialties.
- Broad-based general professional training in general medicine.
- Understanding of clinical research principles and Good Clinical Practice.
- Evidence of original research.
- Experience of undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training.
- Evidence of contribution to effective clinical audit and clinical risk management.
- Teaching qualification.
- Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Understanding of clinical governance and audit.
- Evidence of understanding of Good Medical Practice set by the GMC.
